Main Achievements: For more than 20 years he filmed and
reported on wars and other catastrophic events in Asia. He also covered
guerrilla wars in Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Angola, The Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, South
Africa and Lebanon. He was killed while filming a military coup in
Thailand.

In 1987 he was posthumously awarded the Humanitarian Pater, which is given by the media in recognition of significant service to mankind. This acknowledged not only Neil's courage and professionalism as a great war correspondent but also his compassion and generosity to disadvantaged children, refugees and other victims of war.
